Throughout the summer Michaela would like to help Gilbert youth improve their skills by starting with the basic fundamentals and working their way up to thinking more abstractly and creatively about the game they play as they’re playing it.
Rosters for Spring 2015 have been sent to the coaches. If you are registered for this season you should be receiving and email from your daughter or sons' coach shortly. Please be patient :)
Parents of any youth athletes we are having a BASEBALL and SOCCER equipment (shoes, shinguards, gloves, bats, etc.) exchange.
When: Tuesday, March 10th 5pm-6pm
Where: High School Commons room
If you have any items to donate, and would like to drop them off ahead of time, please drop them off at the Elementary or Intermediate offices. Or you may bring them the night of the exchange as well.
Please contact Allison Anderson (firstname.lastname@example.org or 515-708-5295) if you have any questions or to drop items off at her house (704 Ashby Circle) as another option. If you are unable to attend, she may be a resource as well to see if there are items needed still available.
I know this is last minute, but as many of you know the Gilbert Home coming parade is Thursday Night and starts at 6:30. In past years we've had a good turnout from Heart of Iowa Soccer Club, this year this communication is coming late but we are still going to be marching.
Brian Anderson will be the contact person (515-708-4355) for coordinating the club's participation in the club. If your group plans on marching please email, or text, Brian soonish. Brian will have the HOISC banner and his team (and a few others as of now) in their uniforms and ready to represent the club. (If you can not make it with your team, that is fine too, they are welcome to march without you, just have the parents drop their kids off)
Meet: At the starting point Main St and 2nd
Time: Please have kids there at 6pm, parade starts at 6:30pm
Bring: Uniforms (or HOISC shirts/sweatshirts) and candy.
It is customary to throw candy at parades, if you want to do that with your team, please bring some candy.

As storms roll through this morning, it reminds me that maybe not all parents know how to check on the status of their games. For the younger ages we are a part of Central Iowa Soccer league and they have a "widget" on their site that is used to announce the status of the fields and games. If you are concerned that your game might be canceled please visit http://centraliowasoccer.org before you head out to the field.
